Post Office closure announcement

9th February 2017

Local MP Iain Duncan Smith has raised concerns about the future of South Woodford postal services.

He said: “I will be helping campaign to keep the South Woodford Post Office open. I am concerned Post Office managers seem unable to understand just what an asset they have in George Lane. Many people rely on it heavily. It also helps attract people to the area who then go on to spend money in other businesses in the road. Should the franchise partner decide to move elsewhere, South Woodford will be left without those key services.”

Summary

This paper sets out proposals to revise the immigration system and additionally in the annexe it makes the point that more information is required to fully understand the nature of where the costs fall and benefits exist. The information on much, if not all, of this is held by the government.

The central objective should be to ensure control over the movement of people. Using a combination of work permits and a cap we would look to control access to work and rights to settlement. Free movement for EU citizens for other purposes should be preserved.
